MEG\u2019S EGGS \u00a0 \u00a0 Jan Pienkowski<\/p>\n
A classic Meg and Mog story and one that we could read and read again.\u00a0 With the legendary illustrations and simple but engaging story lines, children are soon able to join in and pre-empt what happens next.\u00a0 This time, one of Meg’s spells goes spectacularly wrong. She is trying to conjure up eggs for tea, but the eggs end up cracking open and revealing dinosaurs!\u00a0 We won’t give the whole story away as it’s a true delight, but are sure you’ll absolutely love it.<\/p>\n
WE\u2019RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT \u00a0\u00a0 Michael Rosen<\/p>\n
A charming picture book where a Dad leading his three small children on an imaginary bear hunt involving crossing cold rivers, muddy fields and thick forests before arriving at a dark cave.\u00a0 The illustrations capture perfectly the mix of delight and apprehension within the children.\u00a0 When the bear is finally confronted, there is a mad dash home (back through the cold rivers, muddy fields \u2026 ) and ends with everyone hiding under the duvet, where the story started.\u00a0 Great Fun.<\/p>\n
PUMPKIN SOUP \u00a0\u00a0 Helen Cooper<\/p>\n
A lovely story for little ones all about friendship and sharing (and all about Pumpkins, so perfect for October !).\u00a0 Three friends, Duck, Cat and Squirrel, meet every evening to make and cook some delicious pumpkin soup. They each have their own part to play in the process in making the yummy soup. However, one evening, Duck decides he wants to stir the soup rather than adding the salt, which of course,\u00a0 leads to a tremendous quarrel which ends with Duck leaving in a huff (sound familiar ?). At first Cat and Squirrel carry on and are not too worried about his absence, but after a while, they do start to be concerned as to what might have happened to Duck. Don’t worry, it has a very happy ending !<\/p>\n
HOW DO DINOSAURS SAY GOODNIGHT\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jane Yolen and Mark Teague<\/p>\n
Part of the fabulous ‘How Do Dinosaurs’ range of books, we love this book for both the brilliant dinosaur images and also the message that we seen to be forever trying to get into our young ones, ie go to bed with no fuss !\u00a0\u00a0 Full of humour and all-to-familiar bedtime antics, we take a peek into the homes of young dinosaurs at lights out time.\u00a0\u00a0 Does a dinosaur slam his tail and pout?\u00a0\u00a0 Does he throw his teddy bear all about?’\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You’ll be pleased to know it all ends in plenty of hugs and kisses!<\/p>\n
