It’s summertime and there’s always an excuse for cupcakes, whether it’s for a village fete, a birthday party or whether you need a school holiday activity to keep the kids entertained.
Children love to spend hours gathering all the ingredients, mixing them together and then waiting excitedly for them cook and rise in the oven. Once they’ve cooled, the messy fun can really start, with everyone taking a few and decorating them to your heart’s content.
Cupcakes are just brilliant as you can vary the recipie and add some new ingredients, such as bananas, raisans, apricots… or as a special treat, chocolate chips and or white chocolate chunks & raspberries.
Decorating cupcakes can even make a great activity at a childs birthday party, once they’ve finished decorating the cakes, display them on a beautiful cupcake tree or stand for all to admire, and of course at the birthday tea, they even get to eat the fruits of their labour. We love the spotty cake stand but also love the truly scrumptious stand too.
Give each party guest a couple of plain cupcakes and pop some different decorating options in the middle of the table for them to use ….. strawberries, jelly tots, icing sugar, chocolate buttons, even icing pens to let them write their own name or draw their own picture.
The decorated cupcakes would also make a delightful gift when leaving the party and can be popped in small bag and tied with a pretty ribbon.
There’s also so much choice in pretty designs of cupcake cases and so ideal for themed parties whether it’s spotty, foiled, striped or dinosaurs makes it even more exciting and imaginative. Silicone cupcake cases are becoming increasing popular, come in a lovely range of designs and can of course, be used time and time again.
